Gold recycling service terms and conditions
Welcome to [Kaolin Fujin Store]. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our services. By visiting our store and making a transaction, you indicate that you understand, agree to, and accept all the contents of these Terms and Conditions.
I. Service Overview
1.1 Our store, 【高林富金闪】, is legally registered and operated in Hong Kong. We mainly deal in the recycling, appraisal and cash exchange services of precious metals such as gold, karat gold, platinum, as well as watches and diamonds.
1.2 All transactions are conducted in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
II. Customer Qualification and Identity Verification
2.1 Transaction clients must be at least 18 years old and have full civil capacity.
2.2 To comply with the Hong Kong Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Chapter 615), our store is legally obligated to verify the identity of our customers. Customers must present the original of a valid Hong Kong identity card or passport. For large transactions, our store may require proof of address and explanation of the source of funds.
2.3 The customer agrees that the store will record basic information of their identity documents (such as name and ID number) and use it only for purposes permitted by law.
III. Item Appraisal and Valuation
3.1 Valuation Process: All recycled items must undergo professional appraisal by our store. The process includes: preliminary inspection, weighing, purity testing (which may use professional non-destructive or minimal-destructive methods such as fire assay and XRF spectrometry), and final valuation.
3.2 Gold purity and weight:
* The buyback price of an item is calculated based on its actual gold content (not the stated purity) and the international gold price on that day.
* Weighing is performed using a calibrated electronic balance, measured in grams (g) or taels. Customers can supervise the reweighing process on-site.
3.3 Nature of Quotations: All preliminary verbal or written quotations are for reference only. The final transaction price shall be subject to on-site confirmation after the completion of all appraisal procedures. The final price may be adjusted due to factors such as the actual purity, damage, and impurity content of the item.
3.4 Damage to old gold jewelry: For gold jewelry that is not brand new or is not a standard gold bar, reasonable wear and tear caused by long-term wear will be deducted when calculating the weight of pure gold. This is a minor wear and tear that is generally recognized in the industry (usually 1-3%). The specific percentage will be explained to the customer after testing.
IV. Transactions and Payments
4.1 Transaction Confirmation: After the final quotation is issued, the customer must explicitly agree to the price verbally or in writing for the transaction to be established.
4.2 Payment Method: Transactions are usually paid in cash. Depending on the customer's request and the transaction amount, bank drafts or direct bank transfers may also be provided. We do not accept checks.
4.3 Payment Timeframe: After the customer confirms the sale and completes the signing of the necessary documents, our store promises to complete the payment on the spot or within a very short time agreed upon by both parties.
V. Ownership of the Goods
5.1 The customer warrants that it has full, legal, and undisputed ownership of the items it sells, and that the items are of legal origin.
VI. Transaction Cancellation and Dispute Resolution
6.1 The customer has the right to cancel the transaction at any time before the final price is confirmed and payment is made.
6.2 Once payment is completed, the transaction is deemed final and irrevocable.
6.3 Any dispute regarding the appraisal results or procedures of this store shall be resolved through friendly consultation between both parties. If the consultation fails, the dispute may be submitted to the relevant regulatory authorities in Hong Kong or resolved through the Hong Kong courts.
VII. Limitation of Liability
7.1 This store will exercise its professional care in appraising items, but will not evaluate the historical value, craftsmanship value or specific collectible value of the items. The buyback price is based solely on the value of the precious metal raw materials.
7.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, this store shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
VIII. Privacy Policy
8.1 Our store highly values customer privacy. All personal information will be handled in accordance with our separately formulated Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9.1 Our store is committed to providing accessible services. For specific facilities and service commitments, please refer to the "Accessibility Statement" posted in our store.
10. Amendments and Severability of Terms
10.1 This store reserves the right to revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The revised terms and conditions will be posted in a prominent place in the store and will take effect immediately on new transactions.
10.2 If any part of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining Terms shall not be affected.
XI. Jurisdiction Laws
11.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
